Clinique Self Sun Body Tinted Lotion Light to Medium

I didn’t get to take my vacation this year after work commitments took priority, but that didn’t stop me from trying to grab a quick tan. I tried out several leading self tan brands, but none compared to the Clinique Self Sun Body Tinted Lotion in Light to Medium. My skin is quite fair; just a few tones darker than pale naturally, so I decided on the light to medium option, but Clinique do offer a lighter and darker variant.

The lotion comes in a sleek, bronze colored tube and is completely oil free (which is a huge priority for me) as well as being non-acnegenic which makes it ideal for use by people prone to acne and spots in general. The formula is also dermatologist tested so it was actually already pretty great without the application!

I squeezed out a few small pea sized drops on to my palm and started massaging the lotion in to my skin. Normally I’d have to go back a couple of times to keep topping up the lotion that I’m applying, but this formula had something that I can only refer to as a liquid-fluency. It literally spread so smoothly that those initial peas were more than enough to cover my arms and torso completely. Another couple of dabs and I’d covered my entire body.

The lotion didn’t take long to work at all and I could see color developing after about 10 minutes. By the time an hour had passed, I looked as if I’d just got back from an exotic vacation. I went in to work the next day and the compliments I got were like nothing I’ve heard before. If you’re looking for an overnight, or even morning remedy to your pale or dull skin, then don’t hesitate to grab the Clinique Self Sun tan lotion!

Clinique ‘A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins’

I love the word ‘different’, especially when it applies to makeup and cosmetics. I’m also no stranger to nail varnishes, but I often find that they are either too easy to remove, or take a tractor to lift away the color! So when I came across the ‘A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins’ by Clinique, I couldn’t wait to give it a go.

The nail varnish is enamel based and is ophthalmologist tested, with a focus on the reduction of pain caused after applying nail varnish. We all know that type of pain – the horrid stinging that sticks around for minutes at a time and made much worse if you have any cuts or flakes around your fingernails!

I picked up 3 different color variations; the Concrete Jungle which is an elegant off-white, the Sweet Tooth which is a soft pink, and finally the Made of Steel, which is a mix of deep blue and silver. All of the colors dried exactly the same as they appeared in the bottle, which was a great bonus as I’ve often used nail varnishes that are a shade lighter or darker in the past.

Once applied, the varnish took just a few minutes to dry with no assistance and lasted well over the course of 72 hours. By the time I wanted to switch colors, I applied a tiny amount of nail varnish remover and the color came off so smoothly that I had to check twice for the Concrete Jungle shade.

Overall, these are a great set of nail enamels with the added bonus of being gentle on sensitive skin! Since testing, I’ve purchased another 4 colors and they’re a lot of fun to mix and match and as they’re all glossy; they all go very well together, even if the contrasts aren’t something that you’d normally go for.
